NATIVE GRASS SEED AVAILABLE
The 2018 Pheasants Forever 2018 PF Seed Book and prices are now available by clicking the links. The booklet has a wide range of mixes, including many pollinator mixes. These pollinator mixes run from $175 to $225 per acre, depending on the soil types on your property. Traditional warm season grass and forbs mixes run from $100 to $180 per acre, again depending on the soil types. If you have CRP in warm-season grasses, interseeding may be your mid-contract management practice. They have a 19 species mix of wildflowers specifically for interseeding, at a cost of $90/acre. There is also a variety of winter food and cover crop mixes for wildlife. These generally come in 25# bags that cover 4-5 acres (depending on the mix) and run anywhere from $45-$90.
Pheasants Forever has offered to partner with SWCD’s on ordering the seed, to help reduce shipping and administrative expenses, the District will get a portion of the retail value of the seed. You can place your orders through the District. The seed will be delivered to the office. The seed will be bagged separately by landowner and project (by default small seed and fluffy seed are bagged separately). Once the seed is delivered, we will inform you that it has arrived and you can come pick it up.
